The charm squares c. 1935-1955 were used to package products used in the kitchen and to feed chickens and other farm animals. During this period, the word "recycling" had not been invented, but frugal housewives used these beautiful printed bags to clothe her family, to deco-rate her home and to make quilts. Some may show evidence of thecoarse twine thread used for stitching the seams. These have been lefton purpose, it is their character and shows authenticity. These collecti-ble textiles have been cleaned with a textile safe quilt wash.

Quilt measures 50 1/2" x 58 1/2". This pattern was designed by Kathleen H. McCrady for Redwork plus. Pattern uses 6" feedsack squares.
